Details Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting within a teaching hospital 13-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM) 36 hours per week with up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule Estimated patient ratios of 1:1-2 Rotating holiday coverage required Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity Epic EMR used Requirements Active RN license, Ohio or compact, required in hand at time of consideration BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred Minimum 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred Epic charting experience required Skills required include IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz monitoring, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and PA line management Teaching hospital experience preferred Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients including post cardiac surgery, CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and VAD patients Care for patients on ECMO, IABP, Impella, and CRRT as needed Manage cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and vasoactive/cardiac drip titration Perform sheath removal, epicardial pacing wire care, and 12-lead EKG acquisition Local candidates accepted at the same rate Former employees eligible for a travel assignment once away from the facility for 6 months or more Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for traveler positions Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing; candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to a fingerprinting location or complete a mailed packet RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less American Traveler Job ID P-730953.
