Details Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting in a teaching hospital Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM) 36 hours per week Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Saturday/Sunday for day shift, Friday/Saturday for night shift) Rotating holiday coverage required Estimated patient ratio of 1:1-2 Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration BLS and ACLS certifications required NIHSS certification required 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Skills required: IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz/PA line monitoring, conscious sedation, and intra-aortic balloon pump management Experience with CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and post cardiac surgery care preferred Experience with CVVHD/CRRT, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and IV insulin protocols preferred 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients including pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery cases Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response Teaching hospital experience preferred Previous travel experience preferred but not required Locals accepted at the same rate Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed promptly upon contract signing due to strict compliance deadlines American Traveler Job ID P-749761.
