Job Details Specialty: CVICU / Cardiovascular ICU Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN) Location: Columbus, OH 43210 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour days Hours per Week: 36 Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040 Patient Population: Adult cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and post-operative critical care patients Patient Ratio: 1:1-2 Schedule: Weekdays with some weekends; rotating holidays Weekend Coverage: Minimum 4 weekend shifts per 4-week block Float Requirement: Required to float within equivalent or lower acuity units as needed Orientation: 36 hours Job Requirements Active RN license in hand at time of submission At least 1 year of CVICU or cardiac ICU experience required; 2 years preferred BLS and ACLS required NIHSS certification required Epic charting experience required Strong critical care nursing skills, including IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan Ganz monitoring, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and PA lines Previous travel nurse experience preferred Ability to provide safe, detail-oriented care in a high-acuity cardiovascular critical care setting Responsibilities Deliver expert nursing care to complex cardiovascular ICU patients Monitor and manage hemodynamic status, vasoactive drips, and advanced cardiac support devices Care for patients recovering from CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, transplants, ECMO, VAD implantation, and aortic repairs Support ventilator management, chest tube care, central line care, arterial line monitoring, and blood product administration Recognize and respond to unstable dysrhythmias, respiratory failure, stroke, renal impairment, sepsis, and other critical conditions Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow best practices for patient safety and infection prevention Float within the organization to comparable units as needed while maintaining excellent patient care standards Why Consider This Columbus Healthcare Job?
