Job Details Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse Healthcare Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Location: Columbus, OH 43210 Type: Travel nursing assignment Duration: 13 weeks Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts Shift Pattern: Days and nights; weekend coverage required Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 - $2,040 Start Date: 09/21/2026 Orientation: 36 hours Patient Ratio: 1:1-2 Weekend Requirement: Minimum 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule block Floating: Required to float within equivalent or lower acuity units as needed Job Requirements 2 years of cardiac ICU or CVICU RN experience preferred Active RN license in hand at time of submission BLS and ACLS required NIHSS certification required Epic charting experience required Experience with IV starts, telemetry, ventilators, Swan Ganz monitoring, sedation, balloon pumps, and PA lines Strong experience caring for adult cardiac and thoracic ICU patients Previous travel nurse experience preferred Ability to work rotating days/nights and support weekend coverage Must be comfortable floating within the organization as needed Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care for adult CVICU patients with complex cardiovascular and thoracic conditions Monitor and manage hemodynamic status, ventilators, vasoactive drips, and advanced cardiac equipment Care for patients recovering from CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, ECMO, VAD, and other advanced cardiac procedures Assess and respond to changes in patient condition with a strong focus on safety and rapid intervention Perform and support procedures such as arterial line management, central line care, chest tube management, and blood product administration Collaborate closely with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners Document accurately in Epic and maintain clear communication throughout the care team Support infection prevention, isolation precautions, and evidence-based ICU protocols Float to similar or lower acuity units within the organization when needed Join our healthcare team today and take the next step in your CVICU nursing career in Columbus, Ohio.
