Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Embark on an enriching contract opportunity as a School Psychologist in the vibrant Winchester, VA area, working onsite in a dynamic educational environment. This role offers the chance to support student success through comprehensive psychological services, collaborating closely with staff and families for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Start Date: July 27th, 2026
End Date: May 28th, 2027
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
Key Qualifications:
- Active and valid Virginia Psychologist License (VA Psych License).
- Prior experience as a School Psychologist in PreK-12 settings strongly preferred.
- Skilled in conducting psychoeducational assessments, FBA/BIP, and counseling.
- Adept at consulting with teachers, administrators, and parents.
- Strong understanding of IEP process and special education compliance.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver psychological evaluations and interpret results for eligibility and planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop interventions that foster student growth.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed throughout the school year.
- Participate actively in IEP/504 meetings, sharing expertise and recommendations.
- Support the creation of a positive school climate by contributing to proactive behavioral programs.
- Maintain accurate, timely records in alignment with district and state policies.
- Serve as a resource for faculty and families about students’ mental health needs.
