Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant in this facility, you will have access to advanced medical equipment and resources, allowing you to perform a variety of interventional procedures while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. Your typical work schedule will be Monday to Friday during standard business hours, with potential adjustments to accommodate patient needs, including some evening or weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to accurately diagnose the causes of patient pain, taking into account physical, psychological, and social factors.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacological, medical, interventional, and behavioral approaches tailored to each patient’s unique situation.
• Provide ongoing management and follow-up care for patients dealing with chronic pain, focusing on enhancing functionality, decreasing pain levels, and improving overall quality of life.
• Effectively manage acute pain from injuries, surgeries, or procedures through evidence-based strategies to relieve discomfort and facilitate recovery.
• Prescribe necessary medications for pain relief, monitoring patients for efficacy and any adverse effects to ensure safe and effective treatment.
• Perform and supervise interventional procedures including nerve blocks and epidural injections, ensuring the highest standards of patient care are met.
• Educate patients and their families on pain management techniques, self-care strategies, and lifestyle changes that contribute to long-term wellness.
• Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records (EHR) reflecting patient evaluations, treatment plans, medical histories, and follow-up care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will primarily work with a diverse patient population experiencing a range of pain conditions, from post-operative discomfort to long-term chronic pain syndromes. You will address both adult and geriatric patients, requiring a sensitive and adaptable communication style to meet various patient needs effectively.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant studies or related field from an accredited institution.
• Active Physician Assistant license in good standing to practice in the state of Texas.
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge and proficiency in pain management techniques and protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for patient interactions and teamwork.
• Ability to maintain a patient-centered approach, showcasing empathy and compassion.
• Proficient in the use of electronic health record systems and other digital tools, ensuring proper documentation and care coordination.

Preferred Experience

• Experience or certification in Pain Medicine or related specialty areas.
• Prior experience in an outpatient pain management setting is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits
