We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team and support a diverse portfolio of entities.

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of multiple community association and property management clients. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with experience managing a multi-entity portfolio and a strong understanding of property management accounting practices.

The successful candidate will be proficient in general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. Experience with Vantaca accounting software is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day accounting activities for a portfolio of multiple entities and community associations.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
• Reconcile bank accounts, investment accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
• Analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues.
• Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger integrity.
• Assist with annual audits, tax preparation, and budget processes.
• Monitor reserve accounts and ensure proper financial reporting of restricted funds.
• Collaborate with community managers, leadership teams, and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and industry best practices.
• Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to accounting efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience.
• Experience managing accounting functions for multiple entities, properties, or association portfolios.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

• Property management, HOA, community association, or real estate accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with Vantaca Accounting Software .
• Experience with portfolio accounting and multi-entity financial reporting.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
