As a Benefits Administrator, you will administer the employee benefits, workers' compensation, auto claims, leave of absence, and retirement programs while serving as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators. You will ensure benefit programs are administered accurately, support employees through the claims and leave processes, coordinate return-to-work activities, and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the employee experience while helping manage organizational risk and controlling claim costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, EAP, FSA, HSA, COBRA, voluntary benefits, and retirement plans.
• Manage benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, employee status changes, and terminations while maintaining accurate records within the HRIS.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit questions, claim inquiries, and leave administration.
• Coordinate annual Open Enrollment, including employee communications, system testing, vendor coordination, and employee education.
• Reconcile monthly insurance carrier invoices and partner with Payroll to ensure accurate employee deductions and employer contributions.
• Administer workers' compensation claims from injury reporting through claim closure while coordinating with insurance carriers, TPAs, medical providers, and legal counsel.
• Coordinate post-injury medical treatment, return-to-work programs, modified duty assignments, and employee accommodations.
• Manage company auto claims, including accident reporting, documentation, repair coordination, and communication with insurance carriers and adjusters.
• Administer leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, military leave, personal leave, and applicable state leave programs.
• Coordinate the administration of the Company's 401(k) retirement plan, including enrollments, contribution changes, loans, distributions, and compliance activities.
• Maintain compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, OSHA, IRS, Department of Labor, workers' compensation, and leave regulations.
• Generate reports and analyze benefits utilization, claim activity, return-to-work performance, and claim trends while identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
• Support workplace safety initiatives, audits, regulatory reporting, and other HR-related projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Five (5) or more years of progressive experience administering employee benefits.
• Experience managing workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs required.
• Experience administering 401(k) retirement plans and employee leave programs preferred.
• Experience managing auto liability or fleet claims preferred.
• Working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, and workers' compensation regulations.
• Experience working with insurance carriers, third-party administrators (TPAs), brokers, and payroll systems.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency with HRIS, benefits administration systems, Microsoft Excel, and payroll applications.
