Veterinary Financial Coordinator | Emergency & ICU | $24-$26/hr | Full-Time Benefits | Tuesday-Saturday, 4:00pm-12:00am | Lawrence, MA Bulger Veterinary Hospital is looking to add a Financial Coordinator (Liaison) for our Emergency and ICU departments. This person will serve as the primary resource for clients regarding financial expectations, treatment plan estimates, payment options, and billing questions. Working closely with ER and ICU doctors, you will help ensure financial transparency while supporting efficient patient care workflows. Review and maintain accurate patient invoices by ensuring services, supplies, departments, and providers are correctly documented and charged within EzyVet and related hospital systems. Partner closely with ER and ICU veterinarians to create treatment estimates, communicate financial plans, and support efficient patient care workflows. Provide financial updates for hospitalized patients, obtain additional deposits as needed, and document all client financial conversations within the medical record. Educate clients on payment and financial assistance options, including pet insurance, CareCredit, and Scratchpay, and assist with applications and claims when appropriate. Address client questions and concerns related to billing, invoices, and financial agreements, escalating complex issues to the appropriate medical team members when needed. Develop expertise in hospital billing processes, insurance programs, and payment resources while promoting best practices in charge capture and financial communication across teams. Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum 3 years of client service experience with demonstrated ability to navigate difficult conversations during emotionally challenging situations Veterinary hospital experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, workflows, and patient care processes Experience with billing, invoicing, charge capture, payment collection, and data entry Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills +Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Basic math and financial calculation skills Ability to work around sick animals, zoonotic diseases, cleaning chemicals, and other veterinary workplace hazards Fluent English speaking and reading skills required Why Join Bulger?
