Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with Rehabilitation and Medical-Surgical experience for a contract assignment at a leading academic medical center in New York City. This opportunity is open to both local and travel nurses .

The RN will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to adult rehabilitation and medical-surgical patients, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to promote recovery, improve functional outcomes, and deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Rehabilitation and Medical-Surgical patients.
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Monitor patient progress and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding rehabilitation goals, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
• Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR .
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention, and patient safety standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License
• BLS Certification
• CRRN (Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse) Certification (Required)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Minimum 2 years of recent Rehabilitation and Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred for travel candidates (not required for local candidates)

Education

• BSN preferred
• Associate Degree in Nursing accepted with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program
