The CDO will be responsible for the secure detention and transportation of prisoners while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and compliance with federal guidelines. Maintain order and discipline among inmates, responding to incidents and disturbances when necessary. Escort and transport inmates securely within the facility and to external locations as required, following all safety protocols. Conduct thorough inmate searches and cell inspections to prevent the introduction or possession of contraband. Use handcuffing and restraint techniques in accordance with policy and training standards. Work as part of a team of Correctional Detention Officers (CDOs) to manage and oversee housing units of 10–205 inmates. Complete reports and documentation related to inmate behavior, incidents, and daily activities. Uphold facility regulations and ensure compliance with federal, state, and agency-specific standards for inmate care and detention. Required Skills and Attributes: Prior experience in inmate searches and applying hand restraints is essential. Must be able to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure, especially during high-stress or emergency situations. Strong communication and teamwork skills, especially in managing large inmate populations with other officers. Work Environment: Work is performed primarily within a secure jail facility, with duties requiring prolonged periods of standing, walking, and physical alertness. Officers must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as assigned. Flexibility is required to accommodate shift changes and varying job assignments.
