Senior Project Manager (NASA CMC)

Leidos has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to support NASA’s Commercial Low Earth Orbit Destinations (CLD) Program. This position will lead projects focused on the development, integration, and certification of life support and multi-disciplinary spaceflight systems, supporting current and future human spaceflight missions.The successful candidate will manage projects across a range of technical areas including Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS), compressed gases, electrical systems, software, and integrated hardware solutions. This role is critical to ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient system performance for long-duration human spaceflight missions.This position is located onsite in Webster, Texas, and will require collaboration with NASA stakeholders, commercial partners, and cross-functional engineering teams.Primary Responsibilities:Lead end-to-end project lifecycle management including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout of aerospace and life support system projectsManage development, integration, and certification of spaceflight hardware and software systemsDevelop and maintain resource-loaded schedules, cost estimates, and Basis of Estimates (BOEs)Coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams including ECLSS, mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineeringInterface with external customers and stakeholders to ensure alignment with mission requirements and program objectivesSupport design reviews, technical reviews, and program milestone reviewsManage risks, issues, and change control processes across projectsEnsure compliance with NASA processes for requirements, verification, safety, quality, and configuration managementReview and approve technical documentation, including work orders, test plans, and engineering productsProvide regular status reporting on cost, schedule, and technical performance to internal and external stakeholdersBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)8+ years of project management experience in aerospace, space systems, or related technical programsDemonstrated experience managing NASA or human spaceflight-related projectsExperience managing complex hardware and/or integrated system development projectsStrong understanding of project scheduling, cost management, and risk managementExperience working in a matrixed, multi-disciplinary engineering environmentStrong communication and leadership skillsPreferred Qualifications:Direct experience with ECLSS (Environmental Control and Life Support Systems) or other human life support technologiesExperience supporting NASA CLD, ISS, Artemis, Gateway, or related programsKnowledge of compressed gas systems, environmental systems, or crew systemsExperience with NASA human-rated hardware development and certification processesFamiliarity with tools such as MS Project, Earned Value Management (EVM), and configuration management systemsPMP certification or equivalent project management certificationExperience presenting to NASA technical boards and program reviewsMust be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance; due to contract requirements, U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent residency is required.
