Job Description
The Facilities Services Lead is a working lead responsible for coordinating and participating in daily custodial operations, facility inspections, and minor maintenance support and event setup and breakdown. This position provides day-to-day directions and guidance to custodial staff and monitors contracted cleaning services to ensure all City facilities are clean, safe, compliant, and presentable. This role performs custodial duties alongside staff and provides administrative support, including scheduling, inventory management, documentation, and reporting. Job Functions

Job Description
The Facilities Services Lead is a working lead responsible for coordinating and participating in daily custodial operations, facility inspections, and minor maintenance support and event setup and breakdown. - Lead and work alongside custodial personnel in performing cleaning, sanitation, and facility upkeep duties across City facilities.
- Provide daily work directions, assign tasks, and serve as a resource for custodial staff regarding procedures and standards.
- Monitor contracted custodial and janitorial vendors to ensure service quality and adherence to established standards, report performance concerns to management.
- Conduct routine facility inspections, identify deficiencies, and ensure corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
- Assist in maintaining custodial schedules to ensure adequate facility coverage.
- Manage custodial inventory, order supplies as authorized, and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Prepare and maintain work logs, inspection reports, inventory records, and other departmental documentation.
- Ensure facilities are clean and prepared for meetings, programs, and special events.
- Communicate facility-related needs and concerns to supervisors and other departments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
- Three (3) years of custodial experience.
- Experience providing work direction or serving in a senior or lead capacity.
- Two (2) years of scheduling, inventory management, or administrative support experience.
- Must pass a DPS fingerprint background check.
Knowledge
- Custodial procedures, materials, and equipment.
- Safe handling, use, and storage of cleaning agents and supplies.
- Facility inspection practices and basic preventative maintenance principles.
- Workplace safety practices and proper use of custodial equipment.
- Organizing and prioritizing daily tasks and assignments.
- Providing work direction and on-the-job training to staff.
- Maintaining accurate records, reports, and inventory.
- Communicating effectively with staff, supervisors, and other departments.
- Monitoring service quality and identifying performance issues.
- Lead by example while actively performing custodial duties.
- Work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism.
- Identify facility deficiencies and ensure timely resolution.
Full-time employees are eligible to participate in our standard benefits program which includes:
- Vacation leave accruals at the rate of 3.33 hours per pay period x 24 pay periods;
- Paid holidays that are determined on an annual basis;
- Employee paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance programs paid for by the City; (Effective on first day of the month after your hire date - family benefits are available and require premiums paid by the employee).
- TMRS retirement plan that requires a mandatory employee contribution of 7% of gross earnings. The City matches this contribution at a rate of 2 to 1
