Visit the State of Colorado for Classified employment opportunities. \n The Vice President for Instructional Services/Provost leads the comprehensive academic enterprise. This position directs, coordinates, and supervises all academic programs—including degree and certificate programs, the library, academic support services, High School Programs/Concurrent Enrollment, and auxiliary programs as specified by the President. The VPI/Provost ensures alignment of instructional services with both the Pikes Peak State College Strategic Plan and the Colorado Community College System (CCCS) Strategic Plan, advancing student success, living wage employment outcomes, and successful transfer to four-year institutions. The VPI/Provost demonstrates a strong commitment to student success, completion, equity, and continuous improvement across all academic divisions.Reports to: PresidentSupervision: Executive deans, program directors, staff, faculty, and classified employees\nMinimum Qualifications:\n• Completed masters degree from an accredited institution.\n • Five years of full-time, recent successful administrative and supervisory experience in higher education.\n • Three years of successful teaching experience in a community/junior college or four-year higher education institution.\n • Demonstrated faculty and staff leadership ability in the higher education sector.\n Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge. Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n• Completed doctoral degree from an accredited institution.\n • Six or more years of full-time, recent successful administrative and supervisory experience in higher education.\n • Four or more years of successful teaching experience in a community/junior college or four-year higher education institution.\n • Demonstrated ability to build consensus among faculty and staff facilitating innovative improvements needed to advance the mission of the College.\n • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a culture of collaboration with other units within the institution emphasizing honest and kind communication, consensus building, conflict resolution and problem solving.\n • Creative and inspiring leadership skills – a builder of teams, strategic thinker, able to prioritize initiatives, articulate a vision and provide support to colleagues regardless of circumstances.\nDuties & Responsibilities:\nLeadership and Personnel Management\n• Direct, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate executive deans and program directors assigned to the Division of Instructional Services, establishing clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations that encompass coaching, continuous improvement, compliance, and professional development.\n • Lead recruitment, hiring, and onboarding, of instructional services personnel, ensuring implementation of fair hiring practices, industry standards, and PPSC best practices.\n • Establish faculty workload criteria and support faculty development initiatives.\n • Practice and strengthen shared governance with Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, Instructor leadership, and Student Government.Academic Program Administration\n• Direct the comprehensive program of instructional services, including assessment, program review, curriculum revision, improvement, and strategic expansion or contraction with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.\n • Oversee offerings to active-duty military personnel at selected defense installations, including evaluation of military education, training, and work experience for academic credit.\n • Oversee career and technical education programs for high school students in area vocational programs to enhance employability upon graduation.\n • Oversee operations of the learning commons, including library and tutoring; e-learning platforms, and all support functions assigned to the Instructional services division.\n • Advance academic programming and partnerships that prepare graduates for living wage employment, industry-recognized credentials, and successful transfer to four-year institutions, ensuring strong career pathways and measurable student outcomes.Accreditation, Standards, and Quality Assurance\n• Oversee and facilitate Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation and assessment processes.\n • Collaborate with administrative officials and academic personnel to establish standards for passing courses, graduation requirements, and special honors.\n • Supervise preparation of the college catalog, academic calendar, and academically related publications.\n • Assist in the development of procedural manuals.External Relations and System Collaboration\n• Coordinate representation of the college in academic, curricular, and programmatic matters with the Colorado Commission on Higher Education, the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education, labor, business, industry, other colleges and universities, appropriate state and federal agencies, and the Colorado Community College System.\n • Collaborate with CCCS and sister colleges to promote efficient and high-quality program development, shared services where appropriate, student success initiatives, and systemwide operational excellence through data analysis and evidence-based decision-making.\n • Participate in the System-wide VP Council Meeting.\n • Support grant development efforts in collaboration with the Foundation and others as appropriate to secure external funding in support of instructional services priorities.Cross-Divisional Collaboration and Student Success\n• Coordinate and collaborate all instructional services functions with student services, student experience and leadership, and administrative services.\n • Work with students, parents, faculty, and community members to eliminate barriers to student success and facilitate access to student support services.\n • Participate in regular and special college meetings, including the President's direct reports staff meetings and leadership council.\n • Participate in institutional or community committee work and special projects related to student enrollment and student services.Budget and Resource Management\n• Develop and administer the comprehensive Instructional services budget within the framework of the Vice President for Administrative Services' responsibility for development of the entire college budget.\n • Make recommendations and develop procedures;
