Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Ortho/Med-Surg - Night ShiftGalva, KS $32,099 - $42,099 a yearJoin a dedicated healthcare team as an Advanced Patient Care Technician providing compassionate support to patients under the guidance of physicians and nursing staff.Essential Responsibilities:Perform timely and accurate documentation following organizational policies. Demonstrate proficiency in patient care across various age groups, from newborns to geriatrics, adhering to unit-specific competencies and procedures. Uphold privacy and security standards related to Protected Health Information (PHI). Maintain professional communication and collaborative relationships with patients, families, healthcare team members, and external agencies.General Duties:Carry out additional tasks as assigned to support patient care and unit operations.Education and Experience:Certification as a Medical Assistant (MA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Home Health Aide (HHA) is required, or completion of at least one semester of nursing school.Licenses and Certifications:Current BLS/CPR certification from an approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation. Completion of on-the-job training in sterile technique, sterile field maintenance, instrument care/handling, EKG, and phlebotomy is required.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in a medical environment and additional certifications such as Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) are advantageous.Skills and Abilities:Basic to moderate computer skills, effective communication, knowledge of medical terminology, ability to remain calm under pressure, and a compassionate approach to patient care.Physical Requirements:Ability to perform very heavy work, occasionally lifting over 100 lbs and frequently lifting up to 50 lbs. Expect to spend 75-100% of the shift standing or walking.
