Production Tech 1 (DL) is a foundational role at Creation Technologies, focused on executing basic production tasks, and performing routine technical production work. This entry-level position is crucial for those starting their career in electronics manufacturing, providing an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting while learning industry standards and practices. Responsibilities include ability to set up and operate various basic instruments, basic troubleshooting limited to test setup verification and proper execution of procedures, adherence to quality standards, and effective collaboration with team members. This role supports technical activities under the guidance of the production team. It's a role that combines hands on experience with professional growth, offering insights into manufacturing.

Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Engages in the setup and operation of basic manufacturing equipment to existing specifications, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
• Handles routine production tasks and escalates issues as necessary, ensuring compliance with quality standards and that products meet process specifications and standards.
• Provides support in basic daily and weekly appraisal and rudimentary maintenance of equipment and tools necessary for the electronic manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrates a basic knowledge of electronics processes and assembly, has the ability to interpret basic technical documentation effectively.
• Executes basic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Tackles technical problems, independently or with occasional assistance, proposing feasible solutions and effectively communicate them to appropriate stakeholders.
• Collaborates effectively within the production team, communicating technical information clearly and contributing to operational goals.
• Executes and provides feedback of manufacturing processes and procedures, ensures accurate records and adherence to protocols.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on existing processes and participating in process improvement efforts.
• Aids in the basic troubleshooting by ensuring proper setup and procedure execution of manufacturing equipment and/or utilizing fault dictionaries/trees/maps to identify root cause, minimizing downtime, and maintaining production efficiency.
• Process Tech Specific:
• Executes basic level process tasks and activities under the direction of Production.
• Assists in the operation of assigned basic equipment and support of PCBA & box-build production.
• Performs daily equipment maintenance, (inspection, cleaning, lubrication)
• Assists with the implementation of new process technologies and equipment, ensuring seamless integration into production.
• Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives for enhanced process efficiency, cost reduction, and yield enhancement.
• Participates in the execution and validation of process changes ensuring that new and modified processes meet all requirements and specifications.
• Basic knowledge of various aspects of the PCBA process, in their specialization area.
• Assists in the identification and resolution of recurring process and performance issues impacting consistent product quality and operational efficiency.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify process bottlenecks and implement effective lean solutions.
• Collaborates with the process engineering team to refine existing manufacturing processes for enhanced efficiency and process performance.
• Resolve basic level debug and troubleshooting escalations
• Ability to read basic wiring diagrams, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
• Test Tech Specific:
• Performs basic assembly and testing tasks on the production floor.
• Performs test station setup per applicable testing procedures ensuring repeatable outputs and reliability.
• Engages in the daily maintenance of test equipment.
• Identifies opportunities to refine testing protocols, ensuring comprehensive coverage and reliable test results.
• Assists the test engineering team with the implementation of test strategies in production, ensuring alignment with product specifications and customer requirements.
• Contributes to the basic troubleshooting of test equipment limited to correct setup and process execution.
• Collaborates with engineering on the enhancement of test documentation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
• Resolve basic debug escalations to root cause.
• Read wiring diagrams, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education and required experience: High School Degree, GED or military training experience. With a focus on vocational skills preferred. 1 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Skills required: Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety guidelines. Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards. Proficiency in basic electronics assembly and/or testing, and/or troubleshooting. Effective oral and written English communication and collaboration skills. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Capacity to learn and apply new skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Awareness of Lean principles, six sigma and industrial ergonomics preferred. Proficient in using Computer systems preferred.

Working environment conditions:

Physical and/or mental demands while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel office equipment, objects, tools, or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and identification, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The working environment is generally clean; however, this position may be exposed to occasional dust, metals/solder occasional exposure to high noise levels from operating machines or physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
