High‑volume retail or other leadership experience is helpful, but prior work at a secondhand resale store is strongly preferred. Candidates should be motivated and have a long‑term interest in sustainable fashion. Previous Experience Preferred experience includes work at a secondhand resale store such as one of the following: Uptown Cheapskate Buffalo Exchange Crossroads Trading Pavement Plato's Closet Style Encore Clothes Mentor Hut 8 Kid‑to‑Kid Once Upon a Child Other local stores with similar business models Shift Leader / Keyholder Shift leaders/keyholders act as manager on duty during store hours and are trained to open and close the store. Responsibilities: Opening and closing the store by following daily task lists Supervising staff Coaching, training and motivating team members to achieve higher performance and excellent customer interaction Leading by example to demonstrate high values and service on and off the sales floor Maintaining a fresh, visually enticing store that is clean and well organized at a level that exceeds competition and customer expectations Assisting management and ownership with day‑to‑day store operations Excellence at sales, customer service, inventory management, housekeeping and all other in‑store tasks Qualifications: Team player with strong leadership and people skills Strong coaching, customer service and selling skills with a take‑charge mentality Excellent verbal and written communication skills Displays high energy without needing motivation Assistant Store Manager (Full Time Preferred) The assistant store manager supports the general manager and ownership with the operation of a profitable store focused on exceptional customer service that exceeds expectations. Responsibilities: Team development: recruiting, properly staffing, and scheduling the store to meet customer needs while staying within a labor budget goal of Coaching, training and motivating team members to achieve higher performance and customer interaction Leading by example on the sales floor to demonstrate high values and service Scheduling regular meetings with team members for training, updates on changing conditions and current fashion trends Sales and results driven, developing and executing strategies to drive customer traffic, purchases and sales Adhering to company guidelines, keeping cost of goods in balance and minimizing potential loss Maintaining a fresh, visually enticing store that is clean and well organized beyond competition and customer expectations Assisting with inventory quality control and budgeting, including labor cost and operational expenses Qualifications: Strong demonstration of current fashion trends for core customer Strong coaching/leadership, customer service and selling skills with a take‑charge mentality Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and 42‑45 hours per week Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated management skills and ability to provide creative solutions for all challenges encountered Displays high energy without needing motivation Buyer (Full Time Preferred) Buyers work directly with vendors (the public) to determine product selection, and are responsible for developing a strong understanding of current fashion at a great price. Responsibilities: Participate in sorting, evaluating and buying gently used brand‑name clothing, accessories and shoes from customers Providing excellent customer service through brand and style knowledge Participating in visual merchandising of the store and overall appearance Engaging in sales and customer service with shoppers Required Attributes: Live, eat and breathe fashion Stellar knowledge of young adult fashion, brands and designer pieces; vintage knowledge is a plus Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities Outstanding customer service skills Strong communication skills Energetic and upbeat outlook Desire to grow with the company over the long term Sales / Customer Service (Shift Leaders) All shift leaders must be functional in this role, assisting customers and maintaining store appearance.
