Position: Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist
Status: Full-Time / Permanent / Hourly
Location: Bedford Hills, NY
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm EST
Compensation: $28.00-$30.00 per hour

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will protect and maximize company’s cash flow by ensuring customer payments are posted properly to respective accounts in accordance with the payment methodology. Monitor and partner with Branch Management to ensure bills for services rendered are paid within 90-days. Post 90 days, it is the Accounts Receivable's responsibility to pursue directly and minimize accounts referred to collections.

What a day is like:

• Apply customer payment (cash, credit cards, checks, ACH/EFT, and lockbox) against outstanding invoices timely and accurately
• Process daily deposits to company bank accounts
• Process customer adjustments and refunds as indicated by branch management
• Printout customer letters, statements, and invoices from Prodeo (company database)
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding payments and resolve any discrepancies
• Manage overdue receivables, partner with branch management to resolve issues and ensure payment
• Follow up on delinquent customers by phone and email post 90-days
• Process the bad debt accounts and forward to collection agency or small claims court
• Daily reconciliation of credit card payments
• Manage chargebacks, returned checks and returned ACH payments
• Monitor bounce back emails to ensure customers are receiving invoices and company is receiving payments

• Ability to process high volumes timely and accurately
• Strong attention to detail
• Customer service skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally.
• Associates degree or course work in related field highly preferred or equivalent work experience
• 2 – 5 years of related experience
• Must be authorized to lawfully work in the U.S.
