Description Ruiz Lopez CPA is seeking an International Tax Associate I to join our team. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience preparing tax returns for high‑net‑worth individuals and complex corporate structures while developing your professional skills in a collaborative, supportive environment. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, takes initiative, and thrives in a dynamic, on‑site work setting. As an International Tax Associate, you will support client onboarding, contribute to accounting and consulting projects, and prepare income tax returns for individuals and various business entities. This role offers a strong foundation in accounting and tax and allows you to add value by helping clients meet their tax obligations efficiently and strategically. Primary Responsibilities Client Onboarding & Engagement Support Draft professional service proposals, master service agreements, and statements of work. Complete onboarding steps to integrate clients and their entities into our platform. Assist with the billing process. Tax Preparation & Compliance Prepare federal and state income tax returns, including international tax forms, for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations. Collect and analyze tax‑related financial data from clients. Prepare quarterly estimated tax calculations. Consulting & Special Projects Contribute to a variety of consulting engagements, including: Year‑end tax projections International tax planning and treaty analysis Cash repatriation strategies and offshore investment planning Financial modeling for tax optimization Research & Client Communication Conduct research on federal, international, state, and local tax regulations. Draft client correspondence regarding IRS regulations and tax positions. Collaborate with colleagues and participate in client meetings. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Actively pursuing or planning to pursue CPA licensure Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly Strong research and analytical abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel 1+ years of experience preparing federal and/or international tax returns 1+ years of experience in an accounting‑related role Experience with UltraTax, Onvio, QuickBooks, and Bloomberg Tax preferred Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines Highly motivated, organized, and detail‑oriented Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future How You’ll Stand Out Willingness to work overtime during tax season Compensation Statement The annual base salary range is $50,000 - $70,000, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience and skills.
