Work Environment This position is entirely remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining the collaborative ethos of our outpatient office. You will have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals who genuinely care about trauma recovery and the well-being of their clients. Although your work will primarily take place in a virtual setting, you will stay connected with your colleagues through regular meetings and team consultations aimed at fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to identify the nuances of patients’ trauma histories and determine the most effective treatment strategies. Craft and implement individualized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery, resilience-building, and the establishment of protective factors. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate patient healing. Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, creating a safe space for patients to process their experiences, learn coping strategies, and connect with others in similar situations. Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to promote seamless, integrated care for each patient. Provide crisis intervention support, equipped to assist patients during trauma-related emergencies. Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and relevant resources to foster understanding and healing. Maintain precise and confidential documentation adhering to all legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with mental health policies. Participate actively in case consultations and professional development sessions to remain informed on best practices in trauma-informed care. Regularly review and adapt therapy approaches based on the latest research and innovations in trauma therapy. Patient Population / Client Focus The primary focus of this role is individuals affected by trauma, including those diagnosed with PTSD, complex trauma, and various dissociative disorders. Our patients come from diverse backgrounds and present unique challenges, requiring a tailored approach to therapy and an understanding of the complexities involved in trauma recovery. Your expertise will directly influence their healing journey and help them reclaim their lives. Qualifications A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution. Current licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois. At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling or related fields. In-depth knowledge of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities. Proven experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions. Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, complemented by a compassionate, non-judgmental demeanor. Ability to remain composed and effective in high-stress situations that may arise during therapy sessions. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and solid computer skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Experience Familiarity with utilizing various therapeutic approaches and modalities specifically designed for trauma recovery. Engagement in professional development activities related to trauma-informed practices. Experience in community outreach or working with diverse populations in mental health settings. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is USD 80,000 to 104,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
