Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth mental health assessments tailored to the distinctive needs and challenges encountered by older adults, ensuring a thorough understanding of their psychological needs.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate considerations of any cognitive changes, physical health challenges, and social factors influencing elder patients.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including both individual and family therapy, specifically addressing geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists and various health professionals to provide a well-rounded, integrated approach to patient care.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention support to elderly patients during mental health emergencies, ensuring safety and stability.

• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment pathways, and the plethora of community resources available to them.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our patient population primarily consists of older adults who face complex mental health issues, including but not limited to dementia, anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders stemming from significant life changes. You will have the privilege of working directly with these patients, families, and caregivers to deliver tailored and compassionate care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid mental health licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT within the state of Texas.

• A solid understanding of geriatric mental health disorders founded upon evidence-based treatment modalities.
