Mechanic

Description

Cranemasters is seeking a skilled and dependable Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical failures, performing repairs and rebuilds, and delivering routine preventive maintenance on a wide range of heavy equipment. This position also requires participation in 24/7 emergency response operations , providing critical field repairs when equipment failures occur.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures using advanced mechanical knowledge and standard procedures

• Perform complex repairs, rebuilds, and modifications on heavy equipment including cranes, dozers, excavators, trucks, and diesel engines

• Respond to emergency service calls, including nights/weekends/holidays

• Accurately complete all required documentation (work orders, time sheets, inspection reports, etc.)

• Maintain a safe, clean work environment

• Follow all safety policies and support team training efforts

Skills/Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED; technical training preferred

• 5+ years experience with heavy equipment repair

• ASE certifications and DOT/FMCSA knowledge (preferred)

• Valid driver's license (CDL A/B preferred)

• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills

• Ability to work under pressure and maintain 24/7 availability

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly

• Work in shop and field environments in all weather conditions

• Stand, walk, bend, and work extended hours as needed
