Work Environment\n

This position is a remote telehealth role, allowing therapists to conduct video consultations with patients across California. While the primary work hours are set from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, there may be occasional evening shifts necessary to accommodate patient needs, ensuring that our elderly clients can access timely care.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Perform comprehensive mental health assessments tailored to the unique circumstances of older adults, taking into account their cognitive, emotional, and social needs.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, providing both individual and family therapy sessions to address a myriad of geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Offer immediate crisis intervention and therapeutical support during mental health emergencies involving elderly patients, displaying adaptability in high-stress situations.

• Educate patients and their families on mental health disorders, treatment options, and community resources to foster understanding and empowerment.

• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans, adhering to legal and ethical standards in mental health care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The therapist will focus on serving elderly patients facing a variety of psychiatric conditions, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties due to aging. This demographic often experiences unique challenges, and the ability to build rapport with elderly patients and their families is crucial in facilitating effective therapeutic relationships.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.

• Strong foundation in geriatric mental health, understanding the specific mental health challenges faced by older adults.

Compensation and Benefits\n
