IT Support Technician

About the role At Maersk, we are looking for an IT Support Technician to join our North America IT team in Charlotte, NC. In this onsite role, you will provide hands‑on technical support to employees, maintain workplace technology, support local infrastructure, and help deliver an excellent end‑user experience. You will work closely with the Global Service Desk, remote support teams, vendors, and business stakeholders while acting as a trusted local technology partner. The role reports to the Area IT Lead. Key Responsibilities Provide onsite technical support for incidents and service requests requiring physical intervention. Support laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, meeting room technology, and related peripherals. Deliver high‑quality support for Microsoft 365, Windows environments, standard applications, and workplace technology. Manage hardware lifecycle activities, including deployment, inventory management, refresh, repair coordination, and decommissioning. Assist with basic troubleshooting of networking, Wi‑Fi, LAN connectivity, cabling, and local infrastructure components. Support technology deployments, office moves, upgrades, and other local IT projects. Provide professional support to employees at all levels, including executive and VIP stakeholders, while ensuring clear communication and follow‑through. Strong knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, desktop hardware, printers, and end‑user device troubleshooting. Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi‑Fi, LAN, and structured cabling. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high service standards and meeting agreed service levels. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support both technical and non‑technical users. A proactive, self‑directed approach with strong ownership, accountability, and problem‑solving skills. Relevant technical education, certifications, ITIL knowledge, or equivalent practical experience are considered an advantage.
