Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical/Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (4x12-Hour Shifts, 19:00–07:00) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5 on nights
• Manage and care for patients with diagnoses including respiratory illnesses, renal illnesses, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR
• Adhere to facility float policy, floating within scope of practice as needed
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 winter holidays as required by unit scheduling

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license or Virginia RN license pending (must be in hand by the Wednesday prior to start date)
• BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursys verification required at time of submission
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted per facility mileage policy for this unit)
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent staff or internal travelers require a minimum 1-year separation plus leadership approval; external travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN preferred
• Prior experience in Medical Surgical or Telemetry settings
• Familiarity with care of patients with complex diagnoses such as heart failure, sepsis, and sickle cell disease
