Trade Compliance Analyst

Overview Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Trade Compliance Analyst to work with the global trade compliance manager and logistics team to ensure worldwide import and export compliance. Responsibilities Execute daily activities that support and improve SEL’s Trade Compliance Program. Evaluate import/export transactions and documentation for compliance issues and drive problem resolution. Classify products, software and technology; research and apply Rules of Origin. Maintain and update HS, ECCN and COO databases. Create, review and approve commercial data elements and documentation as needed. Interface and communicate internally and externally to ensure efficient transactional support and control infrastructure. Manage preferential trade or special treatment programs. Assist with auditing, corrective actions, training, recordkeeping and other compliance controls. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in International Business, International Trade or related field. Minimum five years of experience in an export or import compliance role. Experience with ECCN classifications of tangible products and technical data. Ability to understand, interpret and apply U.S. trade regulations. Strong data analysis, problem‑solving and communication skills. Computer savvy with proficiency in Excel and internet research. Ability to pass a background check and drug test. Preferred Qualifications Experience with encryption controls and Technology Control Plans. Knowledge and experience with Deemed Export rules. CUSECO or similar certification. Location This position may be located in Pullman, Washington or Boise, Idaho. Benefits & Compensation Competitive pay range of $80,200 to $112,400 annually. 10 paid holidays.
