TOOLING ENGINEER

About the Role:

As a Tooling Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining the tools and equipment necessary for efficient manufacturing processes. Your work will directly impact product quality, production efficiency, and cost-effectiveness by ensuring that tooling solutions meet stringent specifications and operational requirements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance to optimize tooling designs and resolve any issues that arise during production. This role requires a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement to support evolving product lines and manufacturing technologies. Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in tooling design and development within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA for tooling design.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, stamping, injection molding, or casting.
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and engineering drawings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of automation and robotics integration in tooling design.
• Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
• Previous experience working in automotive, aerospace, or heavy machinery industries.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop tooling solutions including jigs, fixtures, dies, molds, and gauges to support manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with product design and manufacturing teams to ensure tooling designs meet functional and quality requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses to optimize tooling designs for manufacturability and efficiency.
• Oversee the fabrication, testing, and validation of tooling to ensure compliance with specifications and performance standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues during production to minimize downtime and maintain product quality.
• Maintain detailed documentation of tooling designs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling performance and reduce manufacturing costs.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for tooling procurement and maintenance services.
