Responsibilities
- Plan and execute rehabilitation programs to help patients regain physical function, using therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, modalities, gait training, and manual techniques
- Evaluate mobility, strength, and overall function; develop a Plan of Care with short- and long-term goals; provide a home exercise program and discharge instructions
- Document patient progress according to approved medical and facility documentation procedures; maintain patient records and ensure payer certifications and authorizations are in place
- Maintain open communication with therapy staff, department colleagues, and referral sources to coordinate care
- Supervise physical therapy assistants as appropriate and ensure consistent, quality care
- Engage in continuing education and apply current standards of practice to patient evaluations and interventions

Requirements
- Active Illinois Physical Therapist license (PT) - REQUIRED
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification - REQUIRED
- 1+ years of physical therapy experience; inpatient experience - REQUIRED
- Ability to work in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
- Two supervisory references completed with dates employed listed - REQUIRED
- Candidate must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Mattoon, IL (non-local requirement)
