This is a unique position to assist Ware Malcomb project teams across the country in preparation and verification of construction estimates for large complex to smaller scope projects.Your RoleAnalyze cost data, unit prices, general conditions, general requirements costs, and information that can be developed and used as a "rule of thumb" for all building systems estimated costsPreparing, verifying, organizing, and coordinating Request for Quote documents and schedules, utilizing schedule information to estimate General Contractor's and other items where schedule is importantData input into estimating software program (RS Means)Perform archive filing and historical cost data gatheringProvide direction and training to new Estimators as they join the teamResponsible for evaluating GC estimates, bids and GMP's are complete, accurate, and well supported by recent pricing dataUtilize Building Information Models (BIM) for quantity take-off and visualization where possible to support verification of a complete estimateEvaluate subcontractor input for scope inclusion. Identify scope gaps, overlaps, and coordinate with other staff managing tradesVerify pricing within the estimate or GMP is complete and accurate, reflecting recent pricing data, subcontractor bids or budgetsDevelop, lead or support the assembly or verification of all estimates and bid documents required by and submitted to the ownerActively participate in estimate and GMP review meetings with architects, engineers, and owners. Be able to incorporate comments, feedback, and input into revised estimates or GMP'sPrepare comparison analysis to previous estimates or previous projects and develop a clear and concise message to explain the variances for each of the project stakeholdersProvide variance reports for each milestone estimate to communicate scope developmentQualificationsAssociates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Construction or similar, plus five or more years as an Estimator for commercial construction projects.Conceptual estimating experience - Must have conceptual ability to work with minimum informationMust have experience in large commercial projectsKnowledge of building/general construction practices, materials, systems, market conditions, trade practices.Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documentsAbility to collaborate with and function well within a team-oriented environmentStrong computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite of programs and RS Means estimating software.Must be able to multitask and meet established deadlines$90,000 - $120,000 a year The compensation range is $90k-$120k, plus benefits. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, licensing, project specialty/complexity and work location. We may exceed the posted compensation range for candidates who surpass the posted requirements.
