Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain open lines of communication with pediatric patients and their families, discussing progress, concerns, and home care programs to foster a supportive environment.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical conditions, focusing on their mobility, strength, and functionality, to develop personalized treatment plans that address individual needs.
• Deliver clinical interventions, including screenings, comprehensive evaluations, and direct hands-on treatment, to enhance quality of life and physical function.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians and other health professionals to monitor patients' progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Engage in patient education by training families and caregivers on home exercise programs, progress updates, and essential discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Refer patients and their families to additional services and resources, ensuring they have access to comprehensive care options tailored to their specific needs.
• Maintain meticulous and accurate documentation of patient interactions and progress in compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on pediatric patients who face various physical challenges. Working with children requires not only advanced clinical skills but also a deep compassion and understanding of their unique needs. You will interact with children of different ages, from toddlers to adolescents, requiring tailored therapy approaches that inspire trust and engagement.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida Physical Therapist License.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy; a Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pediatric anatomy and physiology, specifically tailored to seek improvements in young patients.
• Proven ability to work effectively with families to navigate the therapeutic process.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex medical terminology for better understanding among patients and their families.

Preferred Experience

• At least one year of clinical experience in an acute care hospital or similar healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in trigger point therapy techniques and other specialized treatment modalities beneficial for pediatric patient care.
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary teamwork settings and hospital medicine practices.

Compensation and Benefits
