Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years ED RN experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI (required), TNCC (preferred) Must-Have: Experience in caring for adult and pediatric patients experiencing medical emergencies Description: This position is for a registered nurse in the Emergency Department. The department has 34 beds and 32 vertical care areas. This unit sees an average of 200+ patients per day and operates in a fast-paced, acute environment that handles all ages. Common diagnoses include stroke, respiratory illness, chest pain, abdominal pain, and complications from diabetes. There is significant exposure to heavy trauma stabilization, including gunshot wounds, stabbings, and a diverse patient population dealing with mental health and addiction issues. Patient ratios are variable, typically 1:4 for RNs and LPNs, and 1:20 for CNAs. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation. The unit fosters a culture of teamwork and collaboration. Floating to other facilities may be required as per regional needs, with travel time compensated. Weekend rotation is every other weekend, and holiday work is expected at a 75% level. Requests for time off can be approved for up to 6 days, excluding holidays, with the addition of those days to the end of the contract if needed. Shift times may vary but will be consistent within the contract cycle of 6 weeks.
