Kiawah Island Club Retail Associate

The prestigious and private Kiawah Island Club has an immediate opening for experienced full-time Retail Associate. This is not a typical retail sales job. To deliver the kind of personalized attention our Club is known for and that our Members deserve, we require polished and professional sales associates with strong social skills. The ability to read and respond to social cues is essential.

This is a Full Time position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcoming Members and their guests to the shop
• Answering questions and assisting with purchases
• Completing sales and end of shift accounting
• Opening and closing procedures
• Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels in retail shops
• Assist in the running of smooth and accurate inventories at the end of each month
• Uphold and enforce club policies and protocol
• Customer Service
• Deliver enticing product knowledge of all merchandise
• Record, order, receive and complete transactions for special orders
• Record member preferences
• Assist in creating appealing visual displays to enhance sales
• Fold, steam and arrange merchandise daily
• Work collectively with teammates to ensure shop cleanliness
• Assist Director of Retail in special retail events for members
• Candidates must be willing and able to work in hot weather conditions, at the peak of summer
• Candidates must be willing and able to lift 20lbs, and able to be on their feet for long periods of time
• Candidates must be willing and able to work a 40-hour work week, either AM or PM shifts including weekdays, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience at a high-end private facility is a plus
• Previous customer service experience at a high-end boutique or other similar retail business preferred
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Basic computer and point-of-sale system knowledge preferred
• Flexible schedule including holidays and weekends
• Passion for hospitality and Member and guest experience
• Interest in retail merchandising and boutique operations
• Ability to remain calm and professional during busy seasonal periods

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand or sit for long period of time
• Ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise up to 25 pounds
• Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and stocking of retail displays
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying coastal weather conditions
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and energy level throughout shifts
• Ability to talk and hear, both in person and on the telephone, to exchange information.
