Assistant Manager

Job Summary The Assistant Manager will help the General Manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of the restaurant. Supervisory Responsibilities Trains restaurant staff according to corporate standards. Assist in organizing and overseeing the staff schedules. Enforce systems set in place. Handles discipline of employees in accordance with restaurant policy. Duties/Responsibilities Oversees food preparation, ensuring compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards. Ensures customer satisfaction with all aspects of the restaurant and dining experience. Handles customer complaints, resolving issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner. Monitor food and labor costs; watches for wasteful practices. Manages inventory and purchases food and supplies. Periodically evaluates restaurant equipment for repairs and maintenance Monitor sales and tracks cash shortages. Maintain appearance of the staff and building. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service. Excellent time management skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines. Proficient with POS systems Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. General Management or Assistant Management experience Successful completion of corporate training program required. Physical Requirements Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly. Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Must be able to lift to 25 - 30 pounds at times.
