Job Duties

A License Clerk is responsible for performing a wide variety of customer service duties, including cash receipting, processing of documents, and collecting taxes and fees for the State of Minnesota and Douglas County regarding motor vehicle (title/registration), driver's licenses, a variety of Department of Natural Resources (DNR) transactions, and other general office duties.

Minimum Education Required

High school graduate or equivalent.

Minimum Experience Required

Experience

A minimum of three years of customer service experience with the majority of time spent dealing with customers face-to-face.

Previous experience in a position that handled money, including making change regularly.

Previous experience in a position that utilized computer skills, including data entry and internet navigation, OR the completion of one year of post-secondary education, which would provide the same skills.

Licenses and Other Requirements:

Ability to become a certified title clerk through the State of Minnesota in the time frame required by the employer and maintain such access to DVS records. Must pass the MN Commissioner of Public Safety criminal history background check. This includes BCA and FBI criminal history records in addition to other federal and state repositories. Must be able to pass NMVTIS, Triple Check, Fast Track, and CVR training and testing. Must be a verifiable U.S. citizen.

Job Benefits

The starting salary for this position is $45,961.50 annually ($23.57/hr).

*Receive anniversary step increases for current earning potential of $58,656 annually ($30.08 /hr.) plus annual cost-of-living adjustments (COLA) approved by the Board of Commissioners.

Sick Leave/Earned Safe and Sick Time: An employee shall be credited with 1 day of sick leave for each month of service, accumulative to 90 days. The first 48 hours (or up to 80 hours if any eligible time was carried over) will be counted as ESST.
