About the Position

Job Opportunity – Medical Oncology Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: Day/Night or Night shifts available; staffing ratios goal of 1:4, maximum 1:5; variable weekend coverage based on unit needs; floating required to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units

Highlights:

• Comprehensive solid tumor oncology unit caring for patients throughout their entire cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life care
• Common diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, plus chemotherapy encounters
• Epic charting system with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• 72-hour orientation with interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and social services
• 36-bed unit serving adult and geriatric patient populations
• Oncology experience preferred but not required; acute care medical-surgical experience is essential

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience (must be current and consistent within the last 12 months)
• Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• BLS certification (required)
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Skills: Telemetry interpretation and monitoring, accessing/managing ports, chemotherapy administration, blood product administration, central line blood draws, starting and maintaining IVs, isolation precautions, dysrhythmia management
• ONS Chemo certification preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
