Description Essential Functions Compliance:
OR Minimum High School Diploma / GED with documented college experience and related work experience
C. Training: Complete additional annual training according to the Teaching Parent Training Calendar D. License: A current valid Texas Drivers License with the ability to be insured under commercial vehicle liability insurance. E. Other Requirements:
- Ensure that all client environments are in compliance with minimum standards
- Maintain client safety guidelines
- Supervise and monitor clients closely at all times in accordance with the Treatment Team recommendations
- Ensure that client treatment is in accordance with the client's Treatment Plan and IEP
- Ensure that clients are free from neglect and abuse
- Report allegations of neglect and abuse to TDFPS and/or Executive Director or designee
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Ensure that all clients are properly supervised and cared for according to BAC Policy
- Adhere to employee rules and company policy
- Adhere to the BAC Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics
- Ensure that BAC is a harassment-free work place
- Report concerns to a supervisor
- Relay information to supervisor and / or appropriate staff
- Follow through with supervisor requests / assignments
- Assist classroom teacher in implementation and evaluation of IEP goals and objectives and documentation
- Facilitate learning activities for all individuals throughout each school day
- Maintain educational atmosphere
- Ensure that the home is clean and free from unsanitary conditions at all times
- Maintain a learning atmosphere in the home that respects the needs of all individuals
- Take initiative to perform household related activities (laundry, dusting, sweeping, mopping, cooking, cleaning, etc.)
- Follow through with Treatment Plan and IEP implementation in the home and community environments
- Follow through with educational program in the home by:
- Monitor and assist clients with self-care including toileting (changing soiled clothes), showering, dressing, shaving, etc. according to schedule and as needed
- Safely transport clients to and from school and community
- Accurately complete appropriate documentation and data collection for clients
- Adequately maintain receipts and records of client expenditures ensuring appropriate use of funds
- Utilize physical prompting with clients appropriately
- Safely implements Emergency Behavior Intervention in order to minimize potential injury to a child
- Work cooperatively as a team member
- Display positive work attitude
- Support all areas of the program (Educational Program, Recreation, Animal Care, etc.)
- Demonstrate professionalism
- Treat staff and coworkers with respect
- Promote positive image of BAC while in the community and dealing with community
- Refrain from allowing personal opinions or biases to interfere with client progress
- Model appropriate social behavior to clients at all times
- Treat clients with kindness, dignity, and respect
- Encourage independence for all clients
- Provide "normalized" environment
- Address behavior by separating the behavior from the person
- Employ consequences that are instructive and not punitive
- Strive to establish a therapeutic relationship with residents
- Assure that each client is appropriately bathed and clothed
- Assure that each client is fed well-balanced meals, plus snacks
- Advise management of any medical, behavioral, or academic needs of the client
- Discipline clients as outlined in agency policy
- Implement training and put into functional practice in all settings
- Implement behavior management techniques in accordance with training and policies
- Verbally intervene with clients appropriately
- Utilize principles of reinforcement appropriately
- Implement the client's programs in proactive and consistent manner
- Comply with attendance requirements
- Perform job requirements without requiring excessive supervision
- Take initiative/be proactive in carrying out job duties
- Refrain from pursuing personal activities while on duty or allowing personal issues to interfere with work
- Exhibit good time management skills
- Maintain continuing education as appropriate including licenses, certification, and training hours
- Keep personnel folder in compliance
- Any other assigned duties as outlined by Program Director, or Executive Director
- Demonstrate academic competence in Reading, Writing, and Math to be able to assist students with high school level curriculum

- Due to the level of supervision and monitoring necessary, must be able to meet the attendance requirement

- Must demonstrate English proficiency

- Must be able to lift fifty pounds. Must also stand, walk, run, squat, bend, lift, carry, and sit for excessive periods of time

- Entire shift is spent focused on needs of clients - personal errands or appointments must be done during off time
- No phone, email, texting, or other outside communications (including electronic) until the evening when all duties are completed and clients are asleep
- Exposure to body fluids

- Use/Misuse of chemicals
- Injuries related to equipment / tool use
- Injuries related to the animals
- Risk of exposure to the outdoors (i.e. sun, insects, animals, etc.)
