Human Resources: Leave of Absence Analyst Location: Greater Seattle | Hybrid (onsite Tuesdays) Type: Contract Hourly Rate: $33-38/Hr. Position Summary We are seeking a Leave of Absence Analyst to support the day-to-day administration of employee leave programs and provide responsive, accurate guidance to employees and managers throughout the leave process. This role will coordinate and track leave cases, partner with third-party leave vendors, maintain accurate and confidential records, support return-to-work activities, and collaborate with HR, Payroll, Benefits, and other internal teams to ensure leave processes are managed consistently and effectively. Responsibilities Coordinate and track employee leave of absence cases, including FMLA, ADA-related leave, state-mandated leaves, paid family and medical leave, disability-related leaves, parental leave, and company leave programs. Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers, providing clear guidance regarding leave processes, documentation, timelines, eligibility, and return-to-work expectations. Partner with third-party leave vendors to monitor leave intake, claim status, approvals, denials, extensions, documentation, and employee communications. Maintain accurate leave records, trackers, correspondence, approvals, and related documentation while ensuring confidentiality. Collaborate with Payroll, Benefits, HR business partners, managers, and vendors to coordinate pay, benefit premiums, timekeeping updates, and return-to-work activities. Monitor leave end dates, intermittent leave usage, extensions, and return-to-work requirements, following up as needed. Identify and elevate complex or sensitive leave situations to the appropriate HR, Legal, Benefits, or Payroll partners. Assist with improving leave processes, updating documentation, and developing employee-facing resources to enhance clarity and consistency. Qualifications 2-4 years of experience supporting leave of absence administration, HR operations, benefits, payroll coordination, or a related HR function. Working knowledge of leave programs and related requirements, including FMLA, ADA, state paid family and medical leave programs, disability-related leaves, parental leave, and company leave policies. Experience partnering with third-party leave administrators, benefits vendors, payroll teams, HR business partners, and managers. Ability to explain complex leave-related topics clearly, empathetically, and professionally to employees and managers. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records, documentation, and follow-up activities. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion. Experience working with HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, case management, or leave tracking systems such as UKG, Dayforce, Workday, Smartsheet, or similar platforms. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple leave cases, deadlines, and competing priorities.
