Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing dynamic treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines and best practices.
• Provide direct hands-on patient care through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to promote healing and restore functionality.
• Regularly monitor patient progress and document findings meticulously, using this information to adjust treatment plans as necessary and effectively communicate these updates to the supervising therapist.
• Educate patients on proper exercise techniques, self-care strategies, and lifestyle modifications, empowering them to take an active role in their rehabilitation journey.
• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals—physicians, occupational therapists, and nursing staff—to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records in accordance with facility protocols and regulatory standards, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic procedures, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal disorders. Your contributions will be crucial in facilitating their recovery and equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to prevent re-injury.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or a closely related field.
• Current and active state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in New York.
• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in an orthopedic setting, showcasing your aptitude in patient therapy.
• Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices.
