Work Environment

As part of our orthopedic clinic team, you will interface with a skilled network of healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and medical providers, ensuring comprehensive and integrated patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in the design and implementation of individualized treatment programs based on patients' specific conditions.
• Administer therapeutic interventions such as exercises, manual therapy, and modalities under the direction of a supervising physical therapist.
• Educate patients and their families on appropriate exercises, self-management strategies, and techniques for injury prevention and health promotion.
• Effectively monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and communicating developments to the therapy team.
• Engage in collaborative team meetings to ensure a unified approach to patient care, discussing cases and sharing insights on treatment methods.
• Utilize trigger point therapy techniques to address specific muscular issues and enhance pain relief for patients when appropriate.
• Support initiatives aimed at enhancing occupational health within the facility, participating in workshops, and promoting wellness activities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will involve working with patients across various age groups and backgrounds, focusing primarily on individuals with orthopedic conditions—including post-operative recovery, sports injuries, and chronic pain issues. Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or relevant Bachelor's degree.
• Currently active PTA state license required to practice in New York.
• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in an orthopedic or acute care setting.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated proficiency in manual therapy techniques and a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems to document patient progress accurately.

Compensation and Benefits
