Position Overview

Wingo is seeking an Equipment Fabrication Technician to support a local customer with the assembly, wiring, testing, and installation of chemical feed skids, control cabinets, and packaged water‐treatment and analyzer packages. This role is hands‐on and shop‐based, with occasional field installation support. Candidates should plan for 50% travel. Typically, assignments are brief and allow you to be home nearly every weekend.

Key Responsibilities

• Cabinet & Panel Building

• Build and wire control cabinets, junction boxes, and instrument panels.

• Mount controllers, PLCs, relays, breakers, analyzers, and terminal blocks.

• Perform point‐to‐point wiring, labeling, and quality checks.

• Read and interpret electrical schematics and panel layout drawings.

Skid Fabrication

• Assemble chemical feed skids, pump stands, analyzer racks, and

packaged systems.

• Install pumps, flow meters, valves, sensors, and sample systems.

• Run tubing (PVC, CPVC, stainless, polyethylene) and perform leak checks.

• Mount analyzers, probes, and monitoring equipment onto skid frames.

Shop Work

• Stage materials, cut and prep piping, fabricate brackets, and

assemble components.

• Test completed skids and cabinets for functionality and safety.

• Perform repairs, retrofits, and rebuilds of existing equipment.

• Maintain shop tools, inventory, and work area organization.

Field Installation Support (as needed)

• Assist with on‐site installation of skids and cabinets.

• Connect utilities, mount equipment, and support commissioning.

• Troubleshoot wiring, sensors, pumps, and analyzers during startup.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial fabrication, panel building, or skid assembly.

• Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics.

• Mechanical aptitude with pumps, valves, and instrumentation.

• Basic electrical knowledge (24VDC, 120VAC, wiring standards).

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a shop environment.

• TWIC or ability to get one.
