Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of strong PCU background within the last year. License: Pending license accepted Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, EKG Test upon arrival Must-Have: EPIC experience required Description: Position in Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:5. First-time travelers accepted with EPIC experience and 2 years of experience. No first-time travelers accepted with only 1 year of experience. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. Certifications required include ACLS, BCLS, and completion of an EKG test upon arrival. Floating is required to similar units as needed. Blocked scheduling is not guaranteed, but attempts will be made to accommodate. Travelers living within 50 miles may have a reduced rate. If contracted during all 3 major winter holidays, at least 2 out of 3 holidays will need to be worked. Approved Holiday RTO is dependent on unit availability. Preferred skills include CPI, Sheath Removal, and Care of Ventilated Patients. The patient diagnoses include Chest Pain, Syncope, Heart Failure, Sepsis, Overdose, GI Bleed, COPD, and Pneumonia. Will also see Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Oncology, and Orthopedic cases as overflow. Special procedures include post-cardiac catheterization with stent, ICD/Pacer insertions, and cardioversions. Daily census is approximately 43 patients. Additional interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy. Unit details include managing and titrating drips such as Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Integrillin, Labetalol, Dopamine, and Dobutamine. Required special equipment includes Bipap, Cpap, Vapotherm, Alaris Pumps, and Phillips Monitoring System. References are required prior to the offer. A valid state license is mandatory. Background policy is in place for any license or background hits needing pre-approval. A drug screening will be required within 14 days of the start date.
