Legal Billing Specialist Atlanta Georgia Job ID: 21440 Legal Billing Specialist Hybrid | Atlanta, GA Our client, a well-established and highly respected law firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to join its Accounting & Finance team in Atlanta, Georgia . The Legal Billing Specialist will be responsible for managing the complete billing process for an assigned group of attorneys, ensuring invoices are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with client guidelines. The ideal candidate will have prior law firm billing experience, strong e-billing knowledge, and excellent communication and organizational skills. Key Responsibilities Prepare and process accurate, timely client invoices for an assigned group of attorneys using the firm’s legal billing software. Review prebills, make necessary edits and adjustments, and ensure all billing information is complete and accurate prior to invoicing. Coordinate with attorneys, legal assistants, and clients to resolve billing questions and ensure timely invoice processing. Manage electronic billing submissions while ensuring compliance with client-specific billing guidelines and outside counsel requirements. Monitor invoice submissions, resolve rejected invoices, and ensure successful acceptance through e-billing platforms. Upload cost data and process expense entries, researching and resolving billing discrepancies as needed. Respond promptly and professionally to billing inquiries regarding invoices, account status, payment information, W-9 requests, credit memos, and other billing-related matters. Prepare billing reports and assist with special accounting projects as requested. Serve as backup support for bank reconciliations and other accounting functions when needed. Identify opportunities to improve billing processes and contribute to operational efficiencies. Maintain compliance with firm policies, accounting procedures, and client billing requirements. Qualifications Minimum of five years of accounting and/or legal billing experience within a law firm or professional services environment. Prior law firm billing experience is strongly preferred. Experience with Elite 3E or a comparable legal billing system is preferred. Strong proficiency with electronic billing platforms, including experience with systems such as Serengeti, TyMetrix 360, CounselLink , or similar client billing portals. Strong understanding of legal billing procedures and client billing guidelines. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce highly accurate work under tight deadlines. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service mindset. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment. Flexible to work additional hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, to meet client deadlines.
