Nonprofit Staff Accountant (Part-Time)

POSITION OVERVIEW Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Nonprofit Bookkeeper (Part-Time) on behalf of a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through innovative financing and development initiatives. This is a part-time, temporary hybrid opportunity based in New York City (SoHo) , with a preference for working onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays . This ongoing consulting engagement offers a flexible schedule of 16 to 20 hours per week , with the potential to extend based on organizational needs. PERKS $31.00 to $34.00 per hour Flexible part-time schedule of 16 to 20 hours per week Hybrid work environment with company-provided equipment Opportunity to support a mission-driven nonprofit organization making a meaningful community impact Potential for assignment extension based on organizational needs RESPONSIBILITIES Process accounts payable, employee reimbursements, and maintain accurate vendor payment records Prepare invoices, record cash receipts, and support accounts receivable activities Complete monthly bank reconciliations, research discrepancies, and maintain supporting documentation Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and assist with month-end close activities Maintain organized financial records while supporting accounting projects and daily finance operations Collaborate with the Accounting & Finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting QUALIFICATIONS Professional accounting experience with a strong foundation in accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and general accounting Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel Experience preparing journal entries and supporting month-end close activities Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently Nonprofit and/or multi-entity accounting experience is a plus COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS $31.00 to $34.00 per hour , depending on experience Flexible 16 to 20 hour per week schedule Hybrid work environment with company-provided equipment Business casual office environment Ongoing temporary assignment with the potential for extension #J-18808-Ljbffr The Bronx
