About the Role:

The Night Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of a hotel's financial records by performing end-of-day accounting and auditing tasks during the overnight shift. This position is responsible for reconciling daily transactions, verifying guest accounts, and preparing detailed financial reports that support management decision-making. The Night Auditor also serves as a key point of contact for guests during nighttime hours, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any issues that arise. By combining accounting expertise with strong communication skills, the Night Auditor helps maintain smooth hotel operations and supports overall business performance. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
• Experience with hotel property management systems or similar software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, hospitality management, or related field.
• Previous experience as a Night Auditor or in a similar hospitality accounting role.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts with minimal supervision.
• Bilingual skills to assist a diverse guest population.

Responsibilities:

• Perform nightly audit of all hotel financial transactions, including room charges, payments, and adjustments.
• Reconcile daily revenue and prepare accurate financial reports for management review.
• Verify guest accounts and resolve discrepancies to ensure billing accuracy.
• Provide front desk support during overnight hours, including guest check-in and check-out.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints.
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions and prepare documentation for accounting purposes.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless communication and operational efficiency.
