Join New England Homes for the Deaf. We are hiring at Resident Services - Admissions Coordinator. We are looking for candidates who are looking for a rewarding opportunity and be part of a team. This position is located at 154 Water St. Danvers, MA

Reception:

• serve as the initial interface between the facility, potential residents and their families, vendors, job applicants, and all other visitors
• direct visitors to appropriate location(s)
• maintain front door check-in area, including necessary supplies (i.e., masks, hand sanitizer, etc....)
• answer main telephone line(s), including but not limited to routing calls to the appropriate personnel and/or taking messages and delivering them
• perform other general office and day-to-day administrative tasks
• handle all the tasks in a professional manner and with regard for confidentiality of residents and staff

 

Admissions :

• Review prospective admission with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Business Office Manager (BOM) for appropriateness.
• Monitor on-line admission application system.
• Collect, assemble, and check admission papers. Forward to appropriate departments.
• Assist in interviewing residents/guardians/sponsors and obtain required admission information and signatures.
• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility.
• Assist in developing procedures to ensure records are properly completed before filing.
• Discuss admission problems with DON and/or BOM
• Maintain a resident waiting list in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Agree not to disclose residents' protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violation of such disclosure to the Administrator.
• Provide tours, information and application materials to all prospective families and residents upon request.
• Promptly respond to all requests (written, email, phone, in-person) for information.

 

Resident Services:

• Introduce yourself personally to new residents and explain how the PNA works.
• Maintain resident petty cash box ($1,000) and distribute available cash as requested by residents and based on the balance in their accounts.
• Hold bank hours 4 days per week for resident banking needs.
• Count cash in the petty-cash box and indicate the cash balance in the journal at bank closure.
• Receive residents' requests for checks to be issued from their accounts and present them to the Business Office Manager for approval.
• Have residents sign their SS/Pensions checks and personal checks.
• Assist with obtaining resident signatures on documents as needed.
• Complete Provider Request for Transportation forms (PT-1)

Requirements:

• Complete miscellaneous tasks as requested by the Executive Director, Director of Finance, Business Office Manager, and Director of Human Resources.
  • Attend all in-services as designated by the facility.
• All staff are required to take our free, on-site ASL and Culture classes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Office Manager.
