Lead Infrastructure Engineer - GenAI/AWS

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering concepts, with at least 5 years of applied experience.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies, including experience with public-cloud cost management and optimization tools.
• Technical depth in infrastructure engineering, including hardware, networking, databases, storage, deployment, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessment.
• Proven experience using generative AI and agentic AI to automate and develop enterprise software delivery and cost-optimization solutions.
• Hands-on experience implementing FinOps and GenAI agents to optimize AWS cloud costs, with a deep understanding of available optimization levers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop creative, GenAI-driven solutions to technical challenges.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build technical and cross-functional knowledge beyond one product domain.
• Strong understanding of the FinOps Foundation Framework, its capabilities, lifecycle, and domains; proficiency in modern scripting languages and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Advanced understanding of AWS services for traditional compute, containerization, and serverless architectures.
• Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities in the workplace to support infrastructure engineering workflows, with careful validation and awareness of data sensitivity.
• Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalate uncertainty, and ensure outcomes meet resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
• Preferred: AWS engineering or architect certifications; FinOps Practitioner or Professional certification; experience leading GenAI and agentic AI automation projects; advanced infrastructure engineering, cloud technology, or automation certifications; exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Lead the development and integration of GenAI-powered agents throughout the application and infrastructure lifecycle to improve efficiency and optimize costs.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize cloud cost-optimization opportunities using GenAI models and intelligent agents; estimate potential savings using data repositories, reporting, and ETL tools.
• Collaborate with teams to design, implement, and scale agent-based cost-optimization recommendations and best practices.
• Architect and develop automation runbooks and Policy as Code initiatives that use GenAI agents to improve cloud efficiency and strengthen cost governance.
• Advise end users and development teams on cost-effective architectural, operational, and performance decisions.
• Explain FinOps principles and GenAI agent capabilities to stakeholders and leaders, identify waste, and maintain dashboards that show savings.
• Own FinOps-specific GenAI applications and agent processes, ensuring compliance and current documentation.
• Use enterprise-authorized AI tools to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation, validating results and handling operational data in line with sensitivity and security requirements.
• Lead infrastructure engineering workstreams or projects across relevant technologies, collaborating with other platforms to architect and implement changes that resolve issues and modernize processes and technology.
• Consider upstream and downstream data, systems, and technical impacts, and recommend mitigation measures.
• Apply reuse-first and AI-assisted practices in delivery and automation to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options, ensuring changes are traceable, auditable, resilient, and secure.
