About the Position

Job Title: RN MS/Tele - Surgical Specialties Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating shifts Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years acute care experience required (high acuity unit) License: Current RN license (CO or Compact) Certifications: BLS preferred, BSN preferred Must-Have: Candidates must have prior experience in environments with flexible staffing ratios. Description: Position is for a Registered Nurse in the MS/Tele specialty focusing on Surgical Specialties. Shifts will be rotating with various days of the week required. Candidates must be comfortable with floating within scope to meet facility needs. Responsibilities include the management of central lines, nasogastric tube insertion, ostomy changes, and patient education. Patient diagnoses will include trauma, acute care surgery, reconstructive urology, ENT, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, and bariatric surgery. The unit will frequently perform minimally invasive procedures including thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, hernia, appendectomy, and cholecystectomy. Nurse-to-patient ratios may flex based on staffing and unit needs, typically at a ratio of 1:7. Staffed beds in the unit total 36. Additional support and interdisciplinary collaborations are available. Special equipment includes portable lifts, standard vital sign machines, and other related tools. Weekend coverage is required per unit needs.
