Technical Support Specialist

Piper Companies is seeking a Technical Support Specialist for a growing technology organization in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. The Technical Support Specialist role is a hybrid position with time onsite in the office, though remote candidates will be considered for the right individual. The Technical Support Specialist will serve as a key member of the customer success team, supporting customers through technical onboarding, virtual machine deployments, troubleshooting, and ongoing technical support. An ideal candidate for the Technical Support Specialist role is someone with strong customer service skills, a foundational understanding of networking, and the ability to build positive customer relationships while resolving technical challenges.
Responsibilities of the Technical Support Specialist:• Provide exceptional customer support and serve as a trusted point of contact throughout the customer lifecycle.
• Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot virtual machines and related customer environments.
• Assist customers with networking-related issues, including connectivity, IP addressing, routing, and basic troubleshooting.
• Work closely with customers to overcome technical objections, drive adoption, and ensure successful outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, product, and customer success teams to resolve issues and improve the customer experience. Qualifications of the Technical Support Specialist:
• 2+ years of experience in technical support, customer success, help desk, or a related customer-facing technical role.
• CCNA-level networking knowledge with an understanding of routing, switching, TCP/IP, DNS, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Experience deploying or supporting virtual machines in VMware, Hyper-V, cloud environments, or similar platforms.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to manage customer expectations and overcome objections.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues while maintaining a positive and solutions-oriented customer experience. Compensation for the Technical Support Specialist includes:
• Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 depending on experience
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, Sick Leave as required by law
