House Manager

Reports To: Program ManagerJob Summary: Provide leadership and direction for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and ensure the overall quality of care for all individuals receiving services, in addition to mastering the skills of a DSP.Duties and Responsibilities: Must possess patience and tact in working with individuals with disabilities. Be able and willing to complete all duties required of direct care staff. Must obtain negative results for TB screening, current certification in First Aid, CPR/AED, and maintain required training for continued employment. Must have reliable transportation and a working contact telephone number.The House Manager shall:Maintain professionalism in all interactions with Individuals, staff, families, and community members.Provide oversight, supervision, coaching, and corrective action as needed to Direct Support Professionals.Be responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and appropriate documentation related to the services and supports provided to the individual (attendance, progress notes, goal tracking, health tracking, behavior tracking, incident reports, medication administration records, etc.)Actively participate in facility inspections and compliance reviews.Complete monthly reports in a thorough, accurate, timely, and organized/professional manner.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and agency regulations, policies, and procedures.Ensure full implementation of the Individual Support Plan including the individual’s interests, desires, community connections, and participation in ISP meetings.Maintain a current working knowledge of documentation requirements and assist in the completion of documentation audits to ensure compliance with company policy and state regulations.Assist in the organization and presentation of information in team meetings.Support the development of a culture that fosters open communication and positivity.Participate in training DSPs to further help them understand their responsibilities and the knowledge and skills they need to do their job effectively. Provide recommendations for the development of staff evaluations and/or corrective actions.Ensure an adequate inventory of food with regards to the dietary needs of the individuals and household supplies is maintained in the home.Ensure an adequate supply of medications are maintained in locked storage in an organized manner (with controlled medications double-locked), are separated per individual, and prescriptions are not expired.Ensure emergency and safety drills are implemented and documented according to the schedule each month.Ensure agency vehicles are clean, mileage is documented daily, regularly refueled, and maintenance issues are reported promptly.Other personal care tasks that may be required to perform:Observe, report, and document changes in the Individual’s condition.Remind, coach, and/or physically assist with personal hygiene needs when needed.Ensure medications are properly dispensed and documented per company policy and procedures.Provide watchful supervision and oversight of the individuals, maintaining appropriate staffing ratios at all times.Encourage proper nutrition and fluid intake.Monitor proper and safe storage and/or refrigeration of food and beverages.Ensure the safe use of appliances and equipment.Observe Universal Precautions as an approach to infection control to treat all human blood and certain human body fluids as if they were known to be infectious for HIV, HBV, and other bloodborne pathogens.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.Perform other duties as assigned.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a home setting. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, bend, twist, kneel, push, and pull as well as see, talk, and hear. The employee may frequently move to interact with fellow employees, visitors, and/or clients. Additionally, the employee may be required to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees may be required to work at any location as needed and be responsible for their transportation to and from these locations.Qualifications: The House Manager is the lead direct caregiver responsible for individual care and program operations, and must meet the following requirements: successful completion of training and demonstrate understanding and practical competency in the following areas: professionalism; organization skills; verbal and written communication skills; efficient typing skills, basic computer skills; strong decision-making and problem-solving skills; understands the needs of developmentally disabled individuals; maintaining a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance. *Able to read, write, and understand the English language. *Proficient with using computers, tablets, and smartphones. *Able to lawfully and safely drive an agency vehicle in all traffic situations and weather conditions. *Possess a high degree of patience and the ability to tolerate frustrating situations. #J-18808-Ljbffr
