Laboratory Medical Director, Molecular Pathologist

Guardant Health seeks a Laboratory and Medical Director with molecular pathology expertise to oversee clinical operations across multiple molecular pathology laboratories. The role requires ensuring regulatory compliance, clinical quality, and operational excellence in a hybrid position based in Redwood City, CA.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight of molecular pathology laboratory operations across multiple locations and regulatory environments
• Ensure compliance with CLIA regulations, quality control programs, and proficiency testing requirements
• Supervise test methodology selection, validation, and verification of analytical performance
• Monitor laboratory personnel competency and implement training and corrective action plans as needed
• Serve as acting laboratory director and provide consultation on test result interpretation and quality

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or DO) with molecular pathology board certification
• Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) laboratory director licensure or eligibility
• Experience directing or supervising molecular pathology or clinical laboratory operations
• Strong knowledge of laboratory quality systems, proficiency testing, and regulatory requirements
• Leadership and communication skills to guide multidisciplinary laboratory teams
